1. Acetic acid is a major chemical product and one of the most important organic acids. It is mainly used for the production of acetic anhydride, acetate esters, and cellulose acetate, etc. Polyvinyl acetate can be made into films and adhesives, and it is also a raw material for synthetic fiber vinylon. Acetic cellulose can be used to manufacture artificial silk and film.
2. The acetate formed by lower alcohols is an excellent solvent and is widely used in the paint industry. Because acetic acid can dissolve most organic substances, acetic acid is also a commonly used organic solvent (for example, it is used in the oxidation of p-xylene to produce p-toluic acid).
3. Acetic acid can be used in some acid washing and polishing solutions. It can act as a buffer in weakly acidic solutions (such as in zinc plating and chemical nickel plating), as an additive in semi-gloss nickel electrolyte, and can improve the adhesion of the passivation film in zinc and cadmium passivation solutions, and is often used to adjust the pH of weakly acidic plating solutions.

It is used for the production of acetates, such as salts of metals like manganese, sodium, lead, aluminum, zinc, and cobalt, which are widely used as catalysts, auxiliaries in fabric dyeing and leather tanning industries; Acetic lead is the pigment lead white for paints; Tetraethyl acetyl lead is an organic synthetic reagent (such as tetraethyl acetyl lead can be used as a strong oxidant, provide the source of acetoxy group, and be used to prepare organic lead compounds, etc.).
